In 2014, the Alice Rivaz Association launched Prix Alice Rivaz, a triennial literary prize in memory of the novelist. It rewards a work of fiction that questions the representation of social categories, of women in particular. The prize amounts to CHF 5000 and the jury comprises five members who meet every year to list selected works, and every three years to award the prize.
The prize aims to promote contemporary Swiss literary writings in French, and to build bridges between the past and the present, creating ties between Alice Rivaz' works and ongoing literary productions.
The laureates:
This novel combines the individual and the universal, while weaving issues of the past and the present, and a quest for both one’s self and the truth, a quest which also pervades Alice Rivaz’ œuvre.
Without taking any liberties, Bruno Pellegrino affectionately and discreetly takes readers on tiptoe in the footsteps of the Swiss poet Gustave Roud and his sister Madeleine, into times gone by and their world of poetry, their everyday life, his writing and feelings.
Federica, Sabine, Gabrielle, Clara and Anna bear witness to the difficulties of being a woman and to the prejudice and injustice they faced.
Between Sandor and his next-door neighbour, a bond full of restraint and humanity is woven from ordinary encounters.
